Plenty of chat about Opera

Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty, with three winners to their names at the Aintree Festival, have some interesting runners at the final stage of the meeting, none more so than French Opera in the John Smith's Maghull Novices' Chase.

Boylesports, Leon Blanche at Aintree, put this fellow up on Martin King's show on Today FM this morning, commenting: "The horse I really do like in this race (the John Smith's Maghull Novices' Chase) is a horse called French Opera. Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty had two winners yesterday in the opening two races and I know that they really like this fellow."

French Opera, a son of Bering, carries the famous Wilson colours, sported with distinction in recent times by Punchestowns. He was caught in the closing stages of the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival last time.

A course winner, French Opera was touted at the start of the season by the Master of Seven Barrows as a horse that would do really well over fences this term.
