Point Proven For Channon

Mick Channon will not know until later in the week whether Youmzain will join Championship Point in the Vodafone Derby.

Both colts were left in the premier Classic at the confirmation stage and the West Ilsley trainer believes Predominate Stakes winner Championship Point is his best chance yet of success in the Epsom race.

'Championship Point has a touch of class about him and with all the ticks in the right boxes he must have a chance on Saturday,' said Channon.

'I liked the way he went about his job at Goodwood and he goes there with a live chance.

'We will have to see with Youmzain, though.' added Channon.

'Mr Abdullah has both horses entered and might want to have just the one runner. If Youmzain does go I imagine he'll be ridden by Tony Culhane. Ted Durcan will ride Championship Point.'
