Pony racing season suspended

The remainder of this year's pony racing season has been suspended as a mark of respect folllowing the tragic death of Jack de Bromhead at Glenbeigh on Saturday.

Tributes have poured in for the 13-year-old after he was killed in a fall at the beach meeting.

PonyRacing.ie tweeted this morning:-

"Horse and pony racing is suspended for the rest of the season out of respect to Jack De Bromhead. Our priority now is to support everyone affected by this tragedy. Rest in peace Jack. Forever in our thoughts."

A funeral mass celebrating the life of Jack will be live-streamed from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Butlerstown, Co Waterford at 12 noon this Wednesday.
