Possible delays on way to Down Royal as crowds return Those travelling to Down Royal this afternoon are being advised of possible delays on route. There are reports of an accident on the motorway near Loughbrickland northbound and there are some delays at present. Down Royal is the first Irish racecourse, since March 8th 2020, to welcome back paying members of the public today. A limited number of tickets were released on the track's website for advance purchase ahead of today's meeting. They were limited to six tickets per person. As well as a covid questionnaire racegoers had to supply contact details for track-and-trace purposes. The relaxation of restrictions in Northern Ireland now allows for 500 spectators at a sporting event. After an allocation for Down Royal members and box holders around 200 to 250 were expected to be on sale for the general public.
