Brendan Powell was full of praise for Banbridge, following on from his impressive win in the Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase Cheltenham on Saturday.

The winner of the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at the Festival in March, the chestnut gelding has been flawless so far this term.

After making all to score on his racecourse debut over fences at Gowran, the Joseph O'Brien trained six-year-old followed-up in style on Saturday., readily accounting for a quality field.

Powell, who is assistant trainer at Owning Hill, said at Navan on Sunday: "He looks special. Since he has gone chasing, he has won the two.

"We know he stays further, so the world is his oyster at the moment.

"He came back this morning (Sunday) and is in good form.

"Wherever Joseph goes with him now, we will be looking forward to him again. He's a lovely jumper, that is one thing about him."
