Power misses Palace date Sole Power is likely to be rerouted to the Temple Stakes at Haydock after a minor setback ruled him out of this weekend's Pearl Bloodstock Palace House Stakes at Newmarket. Eddie Lynam's brilliant sprinter finally clinched his first victory in Dubai after landing the Al Quoz Sprint on World Cup night at Meydan at the end of March and was due to make his return to European action in Saturday's five-furlong Group Three, a race he has won for the last two years. However, the eight-year-old has suffered a small foot injury and is set to now head for Merseyside on May 23 before bidding for a hat-trick of victories in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot in June. Leading bookmaker Paddy Power, son of Sole Power's owner Sabena, said: " He won't be running on Saturday, but it's nothing too serious, thankfully. "I think he's basically done the equivalent of standing on a thorn and he probably could run, but there's no point in putting him through any pain at this stage. "I'd say he'll probably go to Haydock now for the Temple Stakes before he heads back to Ascot." Lynam has also not declared high-class filly Anthem Alexander for the Palace House, leaving a field of 10 set to go to post. The participants include Stepper Point, Kingsgate Native, Pearl Secret and Tangerine Trees.
