Power pleased with Ascot trip It was a profitable trip to Ascot on Saturday for Robbie Power who rode Magic Of Light to victory in the OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle and picked up good prize money on Fox Norton in the Clarence House Chase. Magic Of Light has stayed in England with the option of running at Huntingdon on Friday, where she could clash with Lady Buttons. “Magic Of Light was very good on Saturday. Coming back to hurdles after being chasing for a long time doesn’t always work out,” said Power. “She was an impressive winner. She’s entered at Huntingdon on Friday over two and a half miles. If they get enough rain in Huntingdon, then she might run there.” Fox Norton was no match for Altior, but it was a good comeback effort after over a year off. “I was delighted with Fox Norton as well on his first run for a long time,” Power told his BoyleSports blog. “He’ll probably go to the Game Spirit Chase in Newbury in a fortnight’s time and then we’ll make a decision (on which race at Cheltenham). “It’s probably unlikely that he’ll have another crack at Altior, but we know he stays well so the Ryanair could be a strong possibility.”
