Prendergast eyeing Eyrefield with Blossom Cork maiden winner Queen Blossom could step up in class for the Eyrefield Stakes on October 25. Patrick Prendergast's juvenile made a good impression when ploughing through the mud to make a successful debut and while the County Kildare trainer is not averse to drawing stumps for the campaign, he has pencilled in a trip to Leopardstown later this month. "We are toying with the idea of running Queen Blossom in the Eyrefield Stakes and she will get an entry. She is a big, leggy filly and I'd not be concerned if she didn't run again this season," said Prendergast. "She has come out of the race at Cork well but, as I suspected on the day, she was tired afterwards and knew she had a race. "The Staffordstown Stud Stakes (at the Curragh on Sunday) just comes a week too soon. "As long as there is kindness in the ground she will be OK, and like most Jeremy's she will go on soft."
