Priorstown (5/2f) made it two wins from his last three outings when claiming the mile and six handicap at the Curragh.

He came under a drive from Ben Coen under three furlongs out as the pair tracked the leader Glittering Gem .

Priorstown really found for pressure and sailed past Glittering Gem inside the final two furlongs. He was two lengths up as he arrived at the furlong marker and stayed on well to win by a length and three quarters from Granville Street (18/1) who put in good late work. It's Good To Talk (16/1) and Galileo Springs (25/1) gave their backers a dividend in third and fourth respectively.

This was a step up in trip for Priorstown who struck over an extended mile-and-a-half at Roscommon in August.

Johnny Murtagh said: "He's a big, backward, lazy horse that will get better. He's got a bit of a pedigree.

"Ben said today he travelled well for the first time. The distance and the ground is helping him. The cheekpieces probably helped him as well. He likes cut in the ground.

"I do think mentally he could be better next year."
