Hurricane Run, Japanese Superstar Deep Impact and Shirocco head a list of 12 horse that have stood their ground for this Sunday's, Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe. Hurricane Run and Deep Impact remain the 5-2 joint favourites with Hills for the Longchamp feature, with Shirocco next best on 11-4.

Aidan O'Brien has left in both the Irish Champion Stakes winner Dylan Thomas and dual Oaks winner Alexandrova. Although both are entered in the race, they are likely to have alternative targets, with Dylan Thomas due to race in the Jockey Club Gold Cup on October 7 at Belmont Park, while Alexandrova is more likely to line up in the Prix l'Opera at Longchamp this weekend.

Andre Fabre, could have three in the race, with defending champion Hurricane Run, Shirocco and Grand Prix de Paris winner Rail Link, all standing their ground. The French handler, who has won five of the last fourteen running's of the race is quoted at 4-7 by William Hill to train the winner of the 2006 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.

William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny said 'We're continuing to see strong support for the top three in the betting' He continued 'The ?Fallon factor' should ensure that Hurricane Run goes off favourite, however if the Japanese and French pools are linked up, then Deep Impact could go off one of the shortest priced favourites in the history of the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe'
