Professional' Percy Primed For Big Run

Martin Dwyer believes second-favourite Sir Percy has the requisite experience to handle himself in the potential hurly-burly of the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday week.

The Marcus Tregoning-trained colt heads straight to the Classic without the benefit of a prep run but is unbeaten in four starts as a juvenile and enjoyed a racecourse gallop at Newbury last week.

'He has plenty of racing experience, he's done it from the front, come through from behind and squeezed through gaps. He's a very professional little horse,' Dwyer told At The Races.

'He's come down the Dip at Newmarket and handled it very well so we know he has all the credentials to be a Guineas horse.'

The rider is also pleased to see the Tregoning yard among the winners.

'They have really started to fly now and that's what we needed coming up to the big race and we're looking forward to a week on Saturday,' he said.
