Group One winning jockey and a man with strong family connections to the west of Ireland, Paul Mulrennan heads to Southwell for one ride this evening in what is one of the more interesting events on the fibresand action.

For the three-year-olds, the Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Handicap sees proud Roscommon football fan Mulrennan don the familiar Saeed Manana silks aboard Global Vision for James Tate.

Global Vision was bred by Cooneen Stud in County Tipperary and he’s by Derrinstown Stud resident Markaz.

It’s A Love Thing heads the market for David Evans, under County Leitrim native Shane Kelly, and this gelding, beaten by just a neck last time, will have to defy a top-weight burden of nine stone seven.

Louth’s Richard Fahey sends Andalaska Bear into battle under Barry McHugh, who hails from Dungannon in County Tyrone.

Scott Dixon’s pair, Waltzing and Driftwood complete the field for the seven furlong contest due off at 7.15.
