Melodic Rendezvous is reported to be recovering from a slight setback that has delayed his second run over fences.

A pulled muscle has prevented trainer Jeremy Scott from getting his stable star back on the track after the Grade One-winning hurdler made a winning debut over the bigger obstacles at Bangor in mid-December.

Although Melodic Rendezvous did not win as easily as expected, the form was franked when Boondooma, who was only beaten half a length, went one better on his subsequent start at Haydock.

"He pulled a muscle which is why he didn't run the other day. That's on the mend and we've had the physio up," said Somerset-based Scott.

"I hope he'll back and running in about a fortnight's time. There are no plans yet."
