Punchestown passed an inspection and the fixture scheduled for today goes ahead.

IHRB Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan said: "Following heavy volumes of rain in a short space of time yesterday, the track was waterlogged in places but thankfully we had a dry night and the track is now ready for racing. The ground is now heavy, soft to heavy in places.

"When speaking to Met Eireann this morning, they have said we will have a dry morning with showers developing from early afternoon.

"There is 5-10mm of rain forecast for later today from around 2pm with possibly heavy showers at times during racing. All races today will be run on the inside track."

The eight-race card gets under way at 1.30pm with Division 1 of the extended two-mile maiden hurdle. Anthony McCann's 114-rated Whimsy heads the market for this contest.
