The Gavin Cromwell-trained Aspurofthemoment is the best backed horse in title sponsor BOYLE Sports’ book ahead of Sunday’s Munster National.

The three-mile handicap chase has attracted its maximum field of 16, with ten trainers fielding runners in the €100,000 feature that has been won by a number of top staying chasers, including Tiger Roll.

Aspurofthemoment will be making just his fourth start over fences, with the six-year-old looking to bounce back to the form of his triumph at the Galway Races having since disappointed at Listowel’s Harvest Festival.

Scraping in off 10st1lbs at the foot of the weights, the Meath-trained runner has seen his odds slashed into 5/1 third favourite from a high of 16/1 in recent days.

A quality field sees champion trainer Willie Mullins field two runners including You Oughta Know who was a faller when sent off favourite in the Kerry National, while Gordon Elliott will rely on Boston Rover Yeats Star and Will Do as he attempts to win the race for the fourth time in 10 years. Weveallbeencaught (4/1f) is the chief flagbearer for the doubly represented Eric McNamara, with the eight-year-old making just his second start for the owner-trainer combination of last year’s winner, Real Steel.

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said: “It’s another cracking renewal of the Munster National and the current betting is testament to how wide open it is. Plenty of punters will be hoping Weveallbeencaught could provide a local success, but it’s Gavin Cromwell’s Aspurofthemoment that’s by far the backed horse in the field, and he’d be the toast of Patrickswell if he comes home in front.”
