Willie Mullins and Paul Townend doubled up at Gowran Park when Quai De Bourbon (5/6f) got the better of his stablemate Chapeau De Soleil (11/2) in the beginners' chase.

These horses are clearly closely matched as Chapeau De Soleil was half a length in front of Quai De Bourbon when they were second and third respectively in a beginners' chase at Leopardstown last month.

Townend stayed loyal to Quai De Bourbon and that was rewarded as his mount held Chapeau De Soleil on the run-in of this two and a-half mile contest. Mullins secured a 1-2-3 when Blizzard Of Oz came home third, a further seven lengths away.

Mullins said: “He looks a real staying type. I’m very happy that he was able to do that on the ground and I’d imagine he’ll go out in trip.

“I’d be nominating him for the Brown Advisory, and I’d imagine he won’t run again before then. The extra distance won’t be any problem to him, and he jumps well.

“I’m very happy with the runner-up. He enjoyed being out in front, and I think he’s settling better over fences.

“Blizzard Of Oz also ran a cracker.”

Paddy Power trimmed Quai De Bourbon from 33/1 to 25/1 for the Brown Advisory.
