Shane Foley doubled up at Bellewstown tonight when Stellar Quality ran out a convincing winner of the Gibneys Gormanstown Fillies Maiden.

The Jessica Harrington-trained filly had been third on her official debut at Killarney last month and stepped forward nicely from that effort.

Foley produced the 7/2 shot to claim front-runner Tswalu passing the furlong pole and she stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a length-and-three-quarters win over the fast finishing Carmel’s Phoenix.

Assistant trainer Kate Harrington said: "She did things really nicely this evening.

"They jumped off and went a nice even gallop which suited her. I was a little bit concerned around the top bend as she wasn't just quite handling the track, but Shane said as soon as he got her out and he straightened up, she picked up really well.

"She ran on great, so I'd say this will probably be her minimum so there will be no harm in stepping up to a mile and six (furlongs)."
