Queally's filly takes the Listed bumper at Gowran Declan Queally has another good prospect on his hands in the shape of Sarahs Lawn who took the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mucklemeg Mares Flat Race at Gowran. Sent off 9/4 favourite after winning on debut at the Galway festival, the daughter of Yeats raced in mid-division under her trainer in the Listed two-mile contest and improved to lead over a furlong out. She stayed on well to account for the Willie Mullins-trained Long’way by three lengths with the first two finishing nicely clear of the remainder. “I said I’d chance the oul Frankie Dettori off a small one! I might never get to do it again,” said Queally after a flying dismount. “It’s brilliant, they are all local lads (For The Love Of It Syndicate). I was going getting a couple of bags of feed this morning and passed the local pub and they were all outside it at 10.30am! “I said ‘at least they won’t be able to remember the race if I give it a bad ride’. “Benny Walsh recommended her so highly to me and I’m delighted for him. “There will be plenty of horses bought off Benny in the future, he’s a very good producer of young horses. “This had been the plan since Galway, so for it to all go right is brilliant.” When asked if she’d go for another bumper he added “I’d say so. The fact that she’s only four and she’s small, she’s probably not going to go chasing. “We’ll be aiming towards the spring festivals.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
