Limestone (13/8f) added his name to Royal Ascot candidates today, having landed Navan’s featured Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Yeats Stakes for a partnership of international owners, trainer Joseph O’Brien and jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle.

Placed third on debut behind Derby-candidate Benvenuto Celini last July, the Valmont & Al Shaqab Racing & Ballylinch Stud-owned Limestone today completed a hat-trick of wins, having scored on his seasonal reappearance at Cork last month.

Jockey Browne McMonagle produced the son of New Bay to lead under a furlong out, with the pair seeing out the 1m5f trip very well, scoring by 1.25 lengths from Asakir .

Trainer O'Brien reported "it was a great ride from Dylan, he is a progressive horse with a good pedigree and is by a good stallion.

"We are delighted to have him and today was another step forward from his win the last day at Cork.

“It always looked like he would get that trip and he has got some nice options ahead. We will have to discuss plans with the ownership, but I would say that is likely he could turn up in the Queen's Vase in Royal Ascot.”
