'Race Setup Is Ideal For Him' - William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Chase Tips Thurles hosts an eight race card this Thursday with a nice variety of races. At 12.20 it is the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Chase, where 16 runners go to post, in what looks an extremely competitive affair. We’ve gone through the race in depth to highlight several runners to keep an eye on and included a selection and next best. William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Chase Tips (12.20) Selection: Tell Nobody Nothin Next Best: Willywampus William Hill Betting Offer De Bromhead charge looking to go one better There’s a good chance Henry De Bromhead will have the favourite at post time, with his six-year-old mare Stoneyford Lady looking to build on her chase debut. She put in a respectable effort on that first attempt over fences and now enters handicap company off a mark of 97, which looks very workable. She looked a natural over fences and is bound to improve. However, she is 0-10 in her career, which is a slight concern. Conditions right for Tell Nobody Nothin The Noel Meade-trained Tell Nobody Nothin has largely been running over further, though his sole win over hurdles came over this trip. He has shown he can stay, despite not managing to win over longer distances yet, and dropping back in trip should suit. Thurles is an undulating track and can come up very soft—stamina is very much required here, even over shorter trips—something that is a question mark for a few of these rivals. Tell Nobody Nothin ran a respectable race behind Crecora Hills at Naas last time when clearly chucked in off a mark of 102. She has yet to run since but has been put up 11lb, and you can be fairly sure she will be rated higher in time, making Tell Nobody Nothin’s second to her look good form. He held off his other rivals well and comes here off an unchanged mark. The race setup is ideal for him, and he is well worth being on the right side of today. Top weight is potentially interesting Of the 16 runners, only one has a course-and-distance win to their name, and that’s the top weight Willywampus. Trained by Eamonn Courtney, the eight-year-old has been out of form for some time, but he’s coming down to a mark he should be able to compete from. In 2023, he won two chases, including his course-and-distance win here, which came off a mark of 112—5lb higher than today. That was a career best. He’s only run at Thurles over fences once since, which was over a different trip and while he has never won on soft ground, he has produced some respectable efforts on soft and heavy conditions. He does need to click back into form, but if it’s going to happen, there’s a good chance it could be here at a course he likes off a favourable mark.
