Racing abandoned at Maisons-Laffitte The David Wachman trained Hidden Oasis has been denied a run at Maisons-Laffitte in France today due to industrial action by racecourse workers. The course was due to stage one of its feature raceday of the year with the highlight being the Group 2 Criterium De Maisons-Laffitte for two-year-olds. The racecourse is reportedly set to be considered for closure as part of cost-cutting measures by France GALOP and the decision by the workers to strike left the racecourse executive no excuse but to abandon racing for the day. The meeting had attracted entries from Britain, Ireland, Germany and Norway and no announcement has as yet been made as to if or when the Group races will be staged at a later date.
