Racing delayed at Wolverhampton after falls

Racing at this afternoon's meeting at Wolverhampton have been delayed following a nasty incident in the opening race which saw two horses and riders fall.

Cumbrianna the mount of Connor Beasley appeared to clip heels and fell two furlongs from the finish hampering and unseating Bilash and Martin Dwyer.

Both riders were reported to be conscious following the incident but unfortunately Cumbrianna suffered fatal injuries.

Dwyer was driven to New Cross Hospital while Beasley left the course in an Air Ambulance with a suspected head injury.
