Radley leads home Mullins one-two Boo Radley timed things well to claim the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle, giving trainer Willie Mullins a one-two. Stablemate Speed For Fun blazed a trail in the two-mile-three contest but a blunder at the third last brought him back to the field. Charlie O’Dwyer produced Boo Radley to lead over the last and the 6/1 shot stayed on strongly to post a six-length success over the 4/6 favourite. The winner had been brought down when in contention on his previous outing at Ballinrobe. Patrick Mullins, who owns the chestnut in partnership with bookmaker Brian Keenan, said afterwards:- “It’s fantastic. I own him half-and-half with Brian, who has the dam. “I told Brian he’d win a bumper but we had a reason every time for his first few runs. “He was unlucky the last day and put it all together today. He’s a very small horse but he’s a brother to two decent horses. Hopefully he’ll win more. “The pedigree would suggest he’ll go further, that’s what Brian tells me anyway. “I’m delighted to get a winner with Brian, I was best man at his wedding. “Hopefully he might go on a bit of soft ground so I think we’ll keep going for the moment and see where we end up. Today was great anyway.”
