Rain at both Irish tracks Cork, where the chase track was selectively watered ahead of yesterday's meeting, had 13mm of rain overnight and it's now yielding to soft on the hurdle track and yielding on the chase course It's set to be a mainly dry day with a start time of 1.50pm. That rain has moved north and is currently falling at Fairyhouse. Ahead of BoyleSports Irish Grand National day, it's yielding on the hurdle/bumper track and yielding to soft, soft in places on the chase track. A total of between 5-7mm is expected by way of scattered showers and there's fresh ground on both tracks. The Fairyhouse opener is at 2.05pm with a 5.00 start for the big race. It's too late for the reserves to get in at this stage, but Ash Tree Meadow (lame) and Fakiera (change in going) are non-runners in the National leaving 28 to line up with Gordon Elliott still set to saddle six runners despite those two defections.
