Shaool in first-time cheekpieces, really relished the ever-softening ground in Leopardstown as she sluiced home in the fillies' handicap over nine furlongs.

This was her first venture into handicap company and it proved fruitful as she was backed down from 12/1 to 7/1.

The daughter of Belardo made stealthy headway for Yudish Geerharry a furlong and a-half from home and she powered past Thrifty Of Digby and Annie's Angel a furlong out.

The race was soon over as she drew four-and-a-half lengths at the line. Annie's Angel (9/1) finished second and was half a length up on Thrifty Of Digby (7/1).

Johnny Murtagh said: “It took us a while to get her to win. She works nicely at home and I’d say the ground was a big help.

“I’m delighted she won as the lads (Broadfield Group Syndicate) are after flying in from America and it’s great that they are here when she’s won.”
