The well-supported John Queally-trained Rattledelatch (1/1) was the winner of the Waterford Greenway Beginners Chase for rider Ian Power.

The five-year-old son of Jet Away travelled well throughout the contest, which was led by the Philip Rothwell-trained Calm Flight ahead, but it seemed like the duo of Doctor Confusion and Kimy had gotten away from Rattledelatch. However, he stayed on extremely well to get up in the closing stages.

Speaking after the race, trainer Queally said: "He's bred to be a chaser. He disappointed us a bit over hurdles. A lot of credit has to go to Keith Donoghue. He rode him in a hurdle race a few months ago. He got off him and he gave out hell about him, but his last statement was 'but he's ok'. We just rode him differently, dropped him in in a few hurdle races and it's worked. He's really a spring ground horse, so I would imagine he's probably gone for this year. He's only a five-year-old and he's done his job."
