Realt back after Christmas

Realt Dubh is reported to be recovering from a setback, and trainer Noel Meade expects the talented chaser to be back in action after Christmas.

The seven-year-old won three Grade 1 races last season but hasn't been seen since finishing second to Captain Chris in the Ryanair Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival in May.

"We just had a little bit of a setback with him about a month ago and I slowed him down completely," said Meade.

"I'd say it would be after Christmas until we have him out. I haven't any idea where he will run next yet, I had hoped it would be the John Durkan but we had to scrap that idea so it will be after Christmas."
