Refinement Boost For O´Neill Amateur Alan Berry succeeded where Kieren Fallon, Barry Geraghty and Tony McCoy failed when landing the €100,000 Paddy Power Champion Bumper, the richest unrestricted National Hunt Flat Race in Europe, for trainer Jonjo O´Neill. 'She´s had three champion jockeys on board and they all got beaten on her so I thought I´d put the boy that knows her on board and Alan has done a brilliant job,' said O´Neill. 'She´s been unlucky on her last couple fo runs when things just didn´t go right for her. She´s a bit of a lady and I thought a pair of blinds might help her. 'She´s not got that much scope but she´ll have to go hurdling as we have no choice.' Runner-up The Fall Guy, winner of Aintree´s Grade 1 bumper last time out, will be going hurdling next season. 'He had no luck in running, perhaps he would have won otherwise,' said trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies. 'He´s shown again that he´s a very good horse and will have a holiday now and then go long-distance hurdling next season.' Weatherbys Champion Bumper winner Missed That was sent off 5/4 favourite but could finish only third. 'I´m disappointed but I had him really wound up for Cheltenham and he wasn´t as wound up today,' said trainer Willie Mullins. 'That was half intentional as I thought it might help him settle. I thought he was fit enough but didn´t win so obviously he wasn´t, these things happen. He could go over hurdles next season but I´d like to send him chasing straightaway.' Mullins enjoyed a second win of the day when Livingstonebramble landed the Masterchef´s Hospitality Novice Chase while General Montcalm held off See More Business´s half-brother Industrious to land the concluding Cox´s Cash & Carry Champion Hunters Chase.TOTE RECORD Today´s Tote on-course turnover at Punchestown was €1,165,774, up €139,633 from last year´s figure of €1,026,141.
