Reponse records first success in finale Reponse Finale (9/2) finally gets her head in front at the 21st attempt in the second division of the 1XBET IRISH SPIRIT Handicap over the extended nine furlongs at Gowran. Previously, with Liam Casey, her last run inspired slight confidence, but this was still a big jump up, and she seems to have improved for the stable switch, along with the step-up in trip. Prominent throughout, she and two others seized an advantage on the field before the daughter of Inns Of Court went on when asked by Robert Whearty two furlongs out. Although beating Medieval Night (6/1) by a diminishing length and three-quarters, she had this contest won from a fair way out. The pace-setting Chapel Island was the same distance back in third at 4/1. Reponse Finale is declared at Cork on Friday and also has an entry on Saturday at Dundalk, so she will have every chance to follow up. Whearty commented, "She has a tendency to be slow away. Step up in trip today I suppose she improved. She liked that nice ground there today. She's first reverse again on Friday. If she gets in I'd imagine they'll take their chance."
