Ribchester bounces back at Chantilly Ribchester regained the winning thread as he claimed a cosy triumph in the Group One Qatar Prix du Moulin at Chantilly. Following victories in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury and the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot, the Richard Fahey-trained four-year-old suffered a shock defeat in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, but showed his true colours as he beat Taareef in the hands of James Doyle. Ribchester's fellow British raider Massaat kept on for third. As Robin Of Navan took the field along through the early stages of the mile contest, Doyle was content to race just in behind on Ribchester, where he was closely attended by both Massaat and Taareef. Doyle gradually wound up Ribchester before pressing on and passing Robin Of Navan entering the final quarter of a mile. It looked as though the Godolphin-owned colt was set to have a fight on his hands as Taareef and Christophe Soumillon covered the move to get within striking range of the market leader. However, while the pair pulled clear of the rest of the field inside the final furlong, Ribchester found plenty to claim the victory.
