Rip & Master to face Delegator

Aidan O'Brien has declared both Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman to take on Delegator in Saturday's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.

Rip Van Winkle was an impressive winner of the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, while Delegator took the Celebration Mile in great style at the Sussex strack on his first start for Godolphin.

Mastercraftsman meanwhile is the surprise package in the field - indications earlier in the week had been that only one of the two Ballydoyle big guns would run. Poet and Set Sail - who were likely pacemakers - have not been declared.

William Haggas' Prix du Moulin winner Aqlaam is the sole four-year-old in the line-up, while the field is completed by Celebration Mile runner-up Zacinto.
