Road To Cheltenham begins tonight Champion jump jockey Davy Russell features in a new five-part documentary series ‘The Road To Cheltenham’ which begins on RTE 1 at 8.30pm this evening. The fly-on-the-wall series follows Russell together with Andrew Lynch, Robert Power, Andrew McNamara and Nina Carberry throughout the 2012/13 season as the quintet build up towards the Cheltenham Festival. It will give unique access into their lives and a glimpse of the physical and mental lengths they go to for their profession. The programmes will also document their lifestyle both on and off the track to illustrate the risks, sacrifice and the physical challenges that go along with being a National Hunt jockey.
