Rock Jock to travel to Germany Rock Jock has side-stepped a crack at the CGA Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday to wait for a race in Germany later this month. Trainer Tracey Collins is eyeing up a tilt at the Goldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden over six furlongs in preference to a trip to Berkshire to run over an extra furlong. "He doesn't go over to Newbury. He goes to Germany at the end of the month (August 29) for a Group Two," the Curragh-based handler told At The Races. "It's a six-furlong race for three-year-olds and upwards. It's an option but it's not an easy option. "Europe is a small place now and you have horses travelling from all over the place to compete in these races, so we'll have to wait until the declarations to know what we are up against. He's very well." Rock Jock has shown very useful form this season, grabbing third place in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot before filling the runner-up spot in a Listed race at Fairyhouse on his latest start.
