As in the first division, the winner emerged from stall two in the second split of the Maher Tractor Sales Handicap over six furlongs at Fairyhouse.

Sent off 4/1 second-favourite having finished fifth over course and distance on her previous start, Rodeeve tracked the leaders under Adam Browne-Souza who was replacing declared rider Reese Holohan.

From early on the straight, Browne-Souza was waiting for a gap on his strong-travelling mount and when it came inside the final furlong, she quickly went through it and asserted to beat Monastere by three and a-half lengths.

Owned by Aidan Archdeacon, the Study Of Man mare was bred by Kirsten Rausing and is out of a Sea The Stars mare.

Winning trainer Michael Browne, grand-uncle of the winning rider, enthused "That was great. She was very unlucky the last day, she should have won but she got into all sorts of trouble.

“It’s great, because what’s scarce is wonderful! It’s brilliant.

“She had been knocking on the door and it’s great to win. It’s hard to win when you’ve only got a couple of horses.

“I get a great thrill out of it because it doesn’t happen too often.

“We didn’t think past today, to be honest. The only downside is that he’ll probably give her a good rap of a penalty because she won easily. We’ll worry about that the next day!”
