Ryan Moore lands Curragh treble aboard Propose Although out of luck in the feature race on the day, jockey Ryan Moore completed a good afternoons work when partnering odds-on favourite Propose to win the concluding Finlay Volvo Irish EBF (C & G) Maiden at the Curragh. A staying on seventh of 27 on his racecourse debut at this track in November, the Aidan O'Brien trained colt subsequently finished runner-up at Dundalk. All the rage here to open his account, the son of Frankel was supported from 6/4 to 8/13f. Moore kept it very simple of the market leader, tracking Dylan Browne McMonagle on Valorous Power before sweeping to the front over a furlong out. As his stamina began to kick in, the Irish Derby entrant, powered clear to score by three-and-a-half lengths from the fast finishing Our Friend Mouse. “He had a nice run at Dundalk and he’s a hardy horse,” said O’Brien. “We’ll see where he fits in, it’s a good while since he ran. “We’ll see what kind of a mark he gets, he could be a horse for a handicap or he could be a stakes horse. “He’s a tough fella, he picked up and kept going. I’d say looking at it he’ll stay further.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson.
