Sailors among Ladbroke possibles The Edward O’Grady trained Sailors Warn is among eight potential Irish challengers for the Listed Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot On Saturday. The four-year-old was successful in Grade 2 company at Leopardstown in December, 2010, and ran a sixth in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Edward O’Grady commented: “We would like to run Sailors Warn in The Ladbroke and we will make a final decision after the weights come out. “He is finding it tough as a four-year-old. We were lucky enough to find a nice race for him on his seasonal debut at Limerick and then he ran up against Steps To Freedom and Unaccompanied. “His size mitigates against him and there are certain races that are more suitable for him than others. We are looking for the next race for him and the Ladbroke could be the one. “I would say that he is better on soft ground but we will see where we are in the weights before deciding whether to head to Ascot or not.” Champion Trainer Willie Mullins is responsible for five of the Irish-trained entries, last season’s Vincent O’Brien County Handicap Hurdle scorer Final Approach, the Grade 1-placed Flat Out, Inspector Clouseau, Tawaagg and the mare Dare To Doubt, a comfortable winner at Punchestown on November 20. Completing the potential Irish line-up are the Adrian Maguire-trained Anshan Dreams and Canaly from the Dessie Hughes stable.
