Trainer Paul Flynn has high hopes but revised plans for Cheers Again (5/6f) who today defied a 16lb hike from the handicapper to complete consecutive wins, in Dundalk's Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Handicap.

Rory Cleary did the steering when Cheers Again landed a gamble at the track on December 14 and today nephew Jack Cleary partnered John Eastwood's gelding to another easy, four lengths win from Reverberation .

Cheers Again was rated 47 when winning in December and 63 today, with Flynn saying “he won again, but I was hoping to stay below 70!”

“I had a plan in mind but I'll have to change it now and he won't run again until the turf. He was going to go to Leopardstown, as I think he'll love it there, but he'll have to go for a different race now.

The Coral Cup-winning jockey and Galway Hurdle-winning trainer added “he's a big horse and he'll improve again - he could be a good horse.”
