Samitar storms home as Teolane disappoints Samitar outstayed her rivals to land the Albany Stakes for Mick Channon and Jamie Spencer. Inetrobil (17-2) looked set to give owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing a second successive win in the race when mastering the trail-blazing Luv U Forever a furlong out. However Kevin Ryan's charge was powerless to withstand the 16-1 winner's late thrust which gained the day by three-quarters of a length. Illaunglass (10-1) came through to take third with 5-4 favourite Teolane never a factor, seemingly ill-at-ease on the ground. Channon said: "We've had our fair share of bad luck this week, what with the Coventry (Gatepost) and a few other races. "But I kept saying to everybody they were running great, we just need them to win. "I believed in this filly, and this was the plan. "I've been down this road a million times, but the Guineas is so far away. "She's a nice filly but she's just a shell of a horse at the moment. "We may give her a month off and look for something in September." Spencer added: "She gets the trip well, she's bred to stay and her half-sister (Nijoom Dubai) won the race. "She can do no more than win. She's a rangy filly and I'm sure she can only improve as the year goes on. "Who knows if she'll get a mile - hopefully she will." Samitar was given a 20-1 first show quote at Sky Bet for next year's 1000 Guineas.
