Last season's Galmoy Hurdle winner Sams Profile is set to resume his chasing career in the coming weeks as the Mouse Morris trained gelding skips a Cork engagement this weekend.

Grade 1-placed as a novice hurdler, lightly raced Sams Profile was last seen winning the Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran but missed a Stayers Hurdle bid at Cheltenham, and the remainder of the 2020/21 season, due to injury.

Morris reports “Sams Profile got an infection in his joint after winning at Gowran. It went into the bone and they had to scrape it out. They have done a great job on him and he’s doing well to be back now.

“He’s accident prone and certainly hasn’t been the luckiest of horses.

“He’s had a couple of runs over fences before (in November 2020). We’ll see what happens but the three-mile hurdle is always there if we decide to go back.”

“He'll run when the ground becomes safe - he has run on good ground but the rain needs to come.”
