San Salvador makes all under well-judged Browne McMonagle ride Given a perfectly executed front-running ride by Dylan Browne McMonagle, the versatile San Salvador registered a seventh career success in the concluding KWD Race. Pushed along from early in the straight and ridden with less than two-furlongs to go, the Joseph O'Brien-trained nine-year-old was soon pressed by 8/13 favourite War Rooms. Showing a willing attitude in the closing stages, the chestnut victor ultimately just held on to prevail by a nose, with the market leader having to settle for the runner-up spot, just as he did on his debut for current connections at Gowran last month. The front pair drew six-lengths clear of Comic Book in third, with the winner returned a 9/2 chance in the colours of the Annus Mirabilis Syndicate. "He is a lovely horse, has been a great campaigner and was nice and straightforward for me," the winning rider commented. "I just let him bowl away in front, he picked up well and was good and genuine in the last furlong. "Royal Ascot is a realistic idea now, as he is a fun horse who handles fast ground, so I can't see why not." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
