Sandown announce prizemoney increase Prize money for the Bet365 'Ultimate Celebration' meeting, the mixed Flat and jumps meeting which signifies the end of the UK National Hunt season, will increase by 15% from £555,000 to £637,000 for 2013. The meeting takes place at Sandown Park on April 26th and 27th. In addition, there will now be seven races on the all-Flat card on the Friday, with a new sprint handicap over five furlongs worth £10,000. No race run at the meeting is worth less than £10,000. Channel 4 will be covering both days of the meeting, with four races each day, including the highlight race of the card on Saturday, the £150,000 Bet365 Gold Cup, won last year by Tidal Bay. The Group Three Bet365 Classic Trial will now take place on Friday, strengthening the card on the first day. Andrew Cooper, Head of Racing and Clerk of the Course at Sandown Park, said: "For the second year running, we have increased the prize money for the Bet365 Ultimate Celebration as it is one of our most prestigious meetings, therefore we feel it is important that the prize money reflects this. The changes in the race schedule are to ensure that the racing on both days of the meeting is as strong and competitive as possible."
