Sandown finally gets the go ahead This afternoon's high-profile fixture at Sandown will go ahead after the track passed a second morning inspection at 10am. Friday's card at the Esher venue went ahead as planned, but with freezing temperatures forecast overnight a precautionary inspection was called for 8am. Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper reported the deployed frost covers to have done their job, but with temperatures still below zero at that stage, he decided to check again. Cooper was delighted to be able to give the seven-race fixture - featuring the Betfair Tingle Creek - the green light at the second attempt. He said: "We've just had the second inspection and we're good to go." The seven-race card gets under way at 12.05pm.
