Sanus Per Aquam is set to face eight opponents in the Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket today.

Jim Bolger's juvenile began his career with a couple of impressive wins but has failed to justify favouritism when placed in Group Three company at Leopardstown on his last two starts.

The Teofilo colt will be partnered by Kevin Manning as he drops back to seven furlongs.

Lawmaking will be making the journey from France and Andre Fabre believes he has a potential Classic contender on his hands.

Beaten into third on his Deauville debut in late July, the Zamindar colt was interestingly stepped up to Pattern level for his next start in the Prix La Rochette at Longchamp earlier this month and was only narrowly denied.

The Khalid Abdullah-owned juvenile now crosses the Channel for a well-contested Group Three.

Fabre said: "I expect him to run a good race.

"He is a good, athletic horse and I think Newmarket will suit him.

"It will be good to get him some more experience and I see him as a potential Guineas horse for next year.

"I know he has yet to prove it, but he is a horse I like a lot."

The Godolphin team are double-handed with Charlie Appleby's Sirenia Stakes winner Rouleau joined by the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Steady Pace.

Appleby said: "Rouleau has been ultra-consistent throughout his two-year-old campaign and I am hoping that he will be competitive on this first try at seven furlongs.

"If he is, it will open up doors for him in the future.

"I don't think that it will prove to be out of his range as he helped force a merry gallop in the Sirenia and then found again when he was challenged late on.

"He has always tended to be doing his best work towards the end of his races.

"He's a very relaxed horse with a great temperament who doesn't light up in the mornings, so that should help him on Thursday.

"He will be switched off and ridden to get the trip.

"He does have a penalty but Thursday may be one of the last chances this season for him to run on a sound surface as the ground tends to deteriorate at this time of year."

Tasleet is a major challenger for William Haggas after landing a valuable sales race at York's Ebor meeting, while Clive Cox's Zonderland could not have been more impressive on his Kempton introduction.

Haalick, Adventurous and Orvar complete the field.
