Scalpnagoon records consecutive wins Market drifter Scalpnagoon (morning 4/1, returned 11s) registered consecutive wins today, as the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding landed the Connolly's Red Mills Irish EBF Auction Novice Hurdle at Naas. The five-year-old had previously scored at Thurles last month for today’s same rider Danny Gilligan and at Naas he improved to lead at the second-last and scored by 1.5 lengths from Koori Star. Trainer Elliott said “I was a bit worried about the ground, but it was a good performance. He showed a good attitude and is a nice horse. He’s a big strong horse that will jump a fence in time. “He’s qualified now for the final of this series at Punchestown and knowing me, he’ll probably run again before then. “Michael (Hanrahan, owner) is lucky and anything he sends to us seems to win: you can’t beat a bit of luck.” Quotes from Alan Magee
