There are several classy novices engaged including Irving, who disappointed in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, Josses Hill, who was placed in the same race, Sgt Reckless, who was just behind, and Arctic Fire, second in the County Hurdle.

Smart four-year-olds like Fred Winter runner-up Katgary and John Quinn's Pearl Castle and Rutherglen may also run.

Grumeti, Get Me Out Of Here, Flaxen Flare, Court Minstrel and Peter Niven's rapidly-improving Clever Cookie add further strength in depth.
