Scudamore Misses Cheltenham Feature

Tom Scudamore will sit out next week's Open meeting at Cheltenham after dislocating his shoulder in a fall at Fontwell.

Scudamore is facing a spell on the sidelines after Grey Paint, trained by his boss David Pipe, fell at the second flight in the Hyder Consulting (UK) Ltd Selling Handicap Hurdle.

'I have dislocated my right shoulder,' confirmed Scudamore.

'I don't know how long I will be out but the doctor said it was pretty straightforward and put it back in.

'I will go and see my specialist next week so I will know more then, but obviously I will have to miss the Paddy Power meeting at Cheltenham.'

Scudamore was likely to have a handful of good rides at Cheltenham's three-day fixture, which kicks off on Friday, with the Pipe yard boasting a rich history in the feature Paddy Power Gold Cup.

Pipe's father, Martin, won the race eight times during his career and the current master of Pond House sent out Vodka Bleu to finish second last term.

'It is disappointing as David's horses are running so well and we had some nice ones to look forward to,' added Scudamore.

'There's never a good time to be out so I'll just go away and concentrate on getting fit again and coming back stronger.'
