Arthur Moore is considering his options with Sea Ducor after the talented novice hurdler met with a recent setback which ruled him out of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.

The son of Sea The Moon won on the Flat at Navan as a three-year-old before making a promising start over hurdles when runner-up to the smart Aspire Tower at Punchestown.

He returned from a 12-month lay-off to land a novice hurdle at Gowran Park in November, and the following month beat all bar Master McShee in a 20-runner handicap at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting.

“He’s met with a bit of a setback and has missed a couple of bits of work,” said Moore.

“He’s cantering away but it wouldn’t have been fair to the horse to have run him at Leopardstown last weekend. I’d hoped to run him (in the Ladbrokes Hurdle) but he just got held up at the wrong time.

“I think we’ll probably wait until Easter now.

“He’s only five and there is no panic with him. He could be a Galway Hurdle horse.”
