Henry de Bromhead's Sea Of Dubka was a fortuitous winner of the opening three-year-old maiden hurdle at Killarney.

She tracked throughout and was a close second behind Harmani who led narrowly two out as long-time-leader Misty Cove gave best.

Harmani looked to have the measure of Sea Of Dubka as he increased the lead to two lengths jumping the last, however, the leader took a plunging fall to leave Sea Of Dubka clear of the remainder.

The well-backed 5/4 favourite galloped in and was some 16 lengths clear of Minella Buoy (11/4) with Misty Cove (22/1) another four and a half lengths back in third.

This was Sea Of Dubka's first crack at hurdling having scored in a handicap at Down Royal in July on her seventh go on the Flat.

Darragh O'Keeffe said: "In fairness, Jack’s horse (Kennedy, Harmani) quickened up really well while my one is probably a good stayer.

"I jumped well, but I was just a little bit green and I was trying to push Conor (Stone-Walsh, Misty Cove) along a bit as much as I could, but Jack came at me jumping the third last and he quickened up better and he was very unfortunate at the last.

"We’ve plenty of schooling done with her and it kind of told today. She was having a bit of a look but, once she got over a couple of hurdles, she has plenty of scope and I was delighted with the way she attacked the last three hurdles."
