SEATTLE SLEW BACK AT STUD Leading sire Seattle Slew is to return to the breeding shed next year after suffering neurological and fertility problems.Robert Clay, the owner of Three Chimneys Farm, Kentucky, described the news as 'a great Christmas present'.Seattle Slew began to suffer coordination problems in January and, although he underwent treatment, the 26-year-old`s fertility subsequently declined.This was the prelude to his temporary retirement from the breeding shed and successful neck surgery at the Rood and Riddle Equine Clinic in April.Tests conducted this month revealed that Seattle Slew`s sperm quality was back to normal.Clay added that the veteran sire was expected to cover a book of 46 mares next year.The 1977 Triple Crown winner was also champion of his generation at two and three, Horse of The Year and Champion Older Horse.Seattle Slew has sired over 90 stakes winners, including the likes of Slew O`Gold, Swale, apote, Landaluce and A.P. Indy.
