SEDGEFIELD MEETING CANCELLED Sedgefield`s meeting next Tuesday today became the latest to fall victim to the foot and mouth crisis. The news leaves Southwell`s all-weather card as the only surviving meeting that day.A statement from Sedgefield said: 'It is with regret that we have to announce the abandonment of next Tuesday`s race meeting.'After discussions with the Ministry of Agriculture and their representatives and also the local farming community we feel that it is not possible to stage next Tuesday`s race meeting.'We are hopeful that replacement fixtures will be made available as and when the current foot and mouth situation is under control and does not pose any threat to the farming community in and around Sedgefield.' - PA
